Privacy Policy for Email Extractor Pro

Effective Date: August 18, 2025

Introduction

Welcome to Email Extractor Pro (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Chrome extension (“Extension”) is designed to help users extract email addresses from web pages. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension collects and how that information is used and stored. Your privacy is critically important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.

By installing and using the Extension, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

The Email Extractor Pro extension operates entirely on your local device. We do not have a server, and we do not transmit your data to any external location.

  1. Website Content Data (Email Addresses): The primary function of the Extension is to scan the content of web pages you visit to find and extract email addresses. This process happens locally within your browser. The collected email addresses are stored on your local machine using the Chrome Storage API if you enable the “Auto-save” feature. We do not have access to this list.
  2. User Settings: The Extension saves your configuration preferences, such as “Auto-save”, “Extract from all open tabs”, and “Run in background”. These settings are stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API to enhance your experience between sessions.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any other form of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), web browsing history, location data, or user activity.

How We Use Your Information

The data collected by the Extension is used solely for the following purposes:

  • To Provide Core Functionality: To find, display, and manage lists of email addresses as intended by the Extension’s purpose.
  • To Store Data Locally: To save your extracted email lists and personal settings on your computer for your convenience, if you choose to do so.
  • To Enable User Actions: To allow you to copy or export the extracted email addresses in .TXT or .CSV formats.

Data Storage and Security

All data collected by the Extension, including extracted emails and user settings, is stored locally on your computer through the secure Chrome Storage API (`chrome.storage.local` and `chrome.storage.sync`). This data is not sent to, or stored on, any remote server and is not accessible by us or any third party.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your data to outside parties. Since all data remains on your device, there is no opportunity for us to share it.

Explanation of Permissions

The Extension requests the minimum permissions necessary to function:

  • `activeTab`: To run the extraction script on the page you are currently viewing when you activate the extension.
  • `tabs`: To perform extraction on all open tabs and to display the tab count.
  • `storage`: To save your settings and extracted emails locally on your device.
  • `scripting`: This is the core permission that allows the extension to inject its code into web pages to find emails.
  • `host_permissions` (““): This is required to allow the `scripting` permission to function on any website you have open, enabling the “all tabs” and “background scan” features.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
